HP has announced the launch of the ENVY 14 Spectre, a premium consumer Ultrabook that commands your attention with its glass body and unique design. The HP ENVY 14 Spectre uses lightweight, scratch-resistant glass on the lid, display, palmrest and HP ImagePad makes this feature an industry first. With new advances in display engineering and chassis design to reduce the bezel thickness, the notebook fits a full 13.3-inch diagonal screen inside a 14-inch diagonal body

The HP Spectre’s high-definition (HD) Radiance Display offers one of the industry’s highest resolution for better brightness and wider viewing angles than traditional notebook displays. The Radiance Backlit keyboard provides illumination using individual LEDs dedicated to each keycap. The keyboard works with an advanced proximity sensor to sense a user’s presence, lighting up when a user approaches and dimming down after he or she leaves. Equipped with a matching audio-grade speaker mesh and Beats Audio, the HP Spectre has an aluminium analog volume dial that acts as a visual design cue and works seamlessly with Beats Audio Manager to precisely adjust audio levels. The built-in HP Wireless Audio turns any home into a concert hall, allowing users to stream uncompressed audio to upto four external devices or directly to any KleerNet compatible device.

The Spectre is also one of the first notebooks to feature HP Touch to Share, a near-field communication (NFC) technology, which allows users to share data between select NFC-enabled smartphones and the notebook. The HP Spectre boasts of up to 9.5 hours of battery life. It is powered by the latest Intel Core processors and includes up to 256GB of storage in an mSata solid state drive. The Intel Rapid Start Technology also allows for quick boot and resume times. Eliminating the need for external dongles, the HP Spectre features a full array of advanced input and output options, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, HDMI and Mini Display Port. Additionally, the HP Spectre offers a performance-tuned software image, full versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and two years of pre-installed Norton Internet Security.

The HP ENVY Spectre will be available in India from April 10, 2012 at Rs.99,999 suggested retail price inclusive of taxes.
