If you are having OS of XP you can easily create Backup its path is very simple you just have to click Start-> All Programs-> Accessories -> System Tools -> Backup-> Click Advance Mode -> Backup Tab
You just have to follow the wizard and soon you will see a backup file is created on your desired directory. Now you can save it to any storage device that will help you just like an angle in the time of any data loss activity.
