Twitter updates website and apps

Twitter is giving all of the platforms that it is present on, a major redesign. It has started rolling out the new website slowly, while updates to apps, both iOS (iPhone only for now, iPad coming soon) and Android are already out there. The new Twitter website has pushed the tweet window back to the right side of the screen. There are 3 tabs now, Home, Connect and Discover. What Twitter has done has broken itself down to its basic functions. Home is your typical timeline with regular tweets, photos and videos. The Connect tab takes you to Mentions, Retweets and Favourited tweets. Here is where you keep up with your conversations. Finally, the Discover tab lets you see who to follow, find friends and browse categories.

Direct Messages are now handled from the Profile, itself. The 'Me' tab is where you send and recieve DMs. The mobile apps too have the three new buttons, Home, Connect and Discover. They will also have the 'Me' button where you can have access to your stats, direct messages and settings. If you do not have the new Twitter design, yet, but still want to see what it's all about, check out the video below.
