How to Make a Ghost Boot Disk



When a computer crashes, you lose all your settings and applications. It can take hours or even days to get your computer back to the way it was. A ghost disk works like the quick-restore disks that come with new computers. By creating a ghost disk, you can restore you computer to the way it was before a crash or format.


Instructions

Step 1: Install the Norton Ghost software.

Step 2:Start the software and choose "File – Create Recovery Disk".

Step 3:Insert the recovery disk into the CD/DVD drive. This should come with the software. If you downloaded the software, you may want to burn the image to a disk to use in this Step.

Step 4:Click "Next" once the CD has been found by Norton Ghost.

Step 5:Click "Automatic (Recommended)". Unless you’re an experienced user, this is the best option to choose.

Step 6:Click "Next" and wait for files to be copied to a temporary location
.
Step 7:Insert a blank disk when prompted. Wait for the files to burn and click "Finish" when complete.

Step 8:Store the disk in a safe location.
